Before I was condemned to die at the hands of the State of Tennessee, I never took seriously my gift, my talent of drawing. While on Death Row, another inmate saw some of my drawings. He introduced me to painting, telling me that if I could draw, then I could paint. The vibrant images that came alive on his canvases inspired me to paint my own images. Art has been a gift to me. It has allowed me to find peace and beauty in a chaotic and ugly place. Now, after years of painting, I hope to share my gift with others. I hope that my paintings will one day inspire others to find their own place of beauty and quiet. I hope others will take and use this gift and share it by creating paintings of their own.
